BIO

I've always loved to write. I decided I'd try writing a novel in 2006, finished, and was completely hooked on the process (and, believe me, it's a process...) I've now completed several manuscripts and am working on marketing the ones I can still stand to read, hoping that someone else will think so, too.

I grew up in Minnesota, received my BA in Political Science (yeah, using THAT a lot) and promptly moved to Mexico to crew on a 44-foot sailboat. It was fabulous, and I fell in love with the Mexican people and the ex-pats, or "yachties" that I met during my stay there. (I will not, however, miss alcohol de cana in any way, shape or form.)

Then it was on to northern California where I learned much about selling fish, hot air balloons, wine, spas and mud baths. I also met some wonderful folks, many of whom I call friends today.

After a few years of drinking wine and getting muddy, I moved to Alaska, hoping to help clean up the oil spill in Prince William Sound. There I learned about fish (again), bears, moose and hiking in the backcountry. I still think about how gorgeous the state is and how interesting the people are, and would love to go back there.

The dark winters weren't my cup of tea (can you say WIMP?), and I started looking for another place to hang my hat. I'd been flirting with the idea of living in Arizona full time, and I finally took the plunge in the mid 90s. Except for the searing hot summers (call me WIMP, again), I loved everything about the state, especially the Sedona area, Four Corners and the Superstition Mountains, and return whenever I can.

Currently I live in Washington State, just outside of Seattle with my sweetheart, an ex-chef who is now a contractor. We are surrounded by beautiful, enormous trees and copious amounts of water. And yes, it RAINS buckets in the winter- a great climate for writing, as long as you own a snorkel.

Arizona calls to me often in the middle of February...

Thanks again for stopping by. Feel free to drop me a line. I'm also on FaceBook and Twitter, so you can contact me there, too.

See you at the beach!
